CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2024-25 is available on the official website cbseacademic.nic.in. The 30% reduction in the syllabus in the previous year has been continued. You can check the latest syllabus of class 10 CBSE 2024-25 from this article.
In CBSE Class 10, a student has to study 5 compulsory subjects. The main subjects include Maths, English, Science, Hindi, and Social Science.
- For Language-1 out of 3 options, 1 has to be chosen.
- For Language-2 out of 38 options, 1 has to be chosen.
- For Elective subjects out of 12 options,1 has to be chosen.
The total marks for each subject in CBSE Class 10 Exams 2025 are 100. However, theory papers are conducted for 80 marks and internal assessments carry 20 marks. You are required to score at least 33% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate to pass the exam.
CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2024-25 is not divided into term I and term II since the board exams are scheduled on an annual basis. Reference to the Context (5+5 = 10 Marks)
- One extract out of two from Drama / Prose.
- One extract out of two from poetry.
Note: Multiple Choice Questions/Objective Type Questions, Very Short Answer Questions (one word/One sentence), and Short Answer Questions (to be answered in 30-40 words) will be asked to assess inference, analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and vocabulary.
Short & Very Long Answer Questions (30 Marks)
- Four out of Five Short Answer Type Questions to be answered in 40-50 words from the book First Flight to assess interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation. 4x3=12 marks
- Two out of Three Short Answer Type Questions to be answered in 40-50 words each from Footprints Without Feet to assess interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation. (2x3=6 marks)
- One out of two Long Answer Type Questions from First Flight is to be answered in about 100-120 words each to assess creativity, imagination, and extrapolation beyond the text and across the text. This can be a passage-based question taken from a situation/plot from the text. (6 marks)
- One out of two Long Answer Type Questions from Footprints Without Feet, on theme or plot involving interpretation, extrapolation beyond the text, and inference or character sketch to be answered in about 100-120 words. (6 marks)
