Calculate CGPA in CBSE Class 10 Result

How to Calculate CGPA in CBSE Class 10 Result?

CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average, which is an average of the grade points obtained by a student in all subjects. The CGPA is calculated on a scale of 10.

To calculate CGPA in CBSE Class 10 Result, you need to follow these steps:

  • Add the grade points obtained in all the subjects (excluding the additional subjects) in the final exams.
  • Divide the total grade points obtained by the number of subjects.
  • The result obtained after the division will be the CGPA.

For example, let's say a student obtained the following grades and grade points in the final exams of class 10:

Subject Grade Grade points
1 A1 10
2 A2 9
3 B1 8
4 B2 7
5 A1 10
6 B2 7
7 B1 8
8 A2 9
  • The total grade points obtained by the student in all the subjects (excluding the additional subjects) will be: 10+9+8+7+10+7+8+9 = 68
  • The number of subjects, in this case, is 8.
  • Therefore, the CGPA of the student will be: 68/8 = 8.5
  • So, the CGPA of the student is 8.5 on a scale of 10.

How to Convert CGPA into Percentage?

To convert CGPA into percentage in CBSE Class 10 you can use the following formula:

  • Percentage = CGPA x 9.5
  • For example, if a student has obtained a CGPA of 8.5, the percentage marks obtained by the student will be:
    • Percentage = 8.5 x 9.5
    • Percentage = 80.75%
    • So, the student has obtained 80.75% marks in CBSE Class 10.

Note: This formula is applicable only for CBSE Class 10, as the CGPA is calculated on a scale of 10 in CBSE. For other boards that use a different CGPA scale, the formula to convert CGPA into percentages may differ.
