IISc Bengaluru declared GATE 2024 result on March 16, 2024. All candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results through goaps.iisc.ac.in. GATE 2024 scorecard have been released on March 23, 2024. Only GATE 2024 qualified candidates will be able to download their scorecards through GOAPS. Along with the results, IISc Bengaluru has also released GATE 2024 topper list with branch-wise AIR 1.
Apart from M.Tech admissions, GATE scores will also be used by several PSUs (such as IOCL, NTPC, ONGC, BHEL, GAIL, etc.) to recruit engineer trainees. This year, GATE 2024 has received 25% more registrations compared to last year. This means that not only the competition might increase but there might be more opportunities at PSUs. GATE 2024 Result Date, Link and Scorecard Download
GATE result 2024 date is March 16, 2024. IISc Bangalore activated GATE result 2024 link at gate2024.iisc.ac.in or goaps.iisc.ac.in. GATE Result 2024 Link @gate2024.iisc.ac.in
As previously mentioned, only GATE 2024 qualified candidates can download their scorecards. GATE scorecard 2024 will be available for download from March 23 to May 31 for free. From June 1, candidates need to pay Rs. 500 to download their GATE 2024 scorecard.
GATE scorecard displays the total marks (out of 100) scored by a candidate, GATE scores (out of 1000), the All India Rank (AIR), the number of candidates who appeared for the paper and the category-wise qualifying marks.
According to IISc Bengaluru, there is a 25% increase in GATE registrations this year. 8,26,239 candidates have applied for the exam. The details on ‘How many students appeared for GATE 2024?’ have also been released. 6,53,292 candidates appeared for the exam and 1.29 lakh candidates qualified.
What is the validity of GATE 2024 Scores?
GATE 2024 score validity is three years from the date of the declaration of result. Hence, candidates can use the GATE 2024 scorecard till 2026-27 academic year.
Since the scores are valid for up to three years, those with GATE 2022 and 2023 scores can also apply for admissions this year along with GATE 2024 scorecard holders.

GATE 2024 Cutoff: Qualifying Marks for DA, CSE, EE, EC, ME
GATE cutoff 2024 is the qualifying marks required by candidates to qualify the exam. IISc Bangalore has released GATE 2024 cutoff. The minimum qualifying marks for GATE CSE is 27.6 for General, 24.8 for OBC-NCL and 18.4 for SC/ ST.

Based on the previous year analysis,
- Colleges such as IIT Bombay, IISc Bengaluru, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, accept ranks below 100. However, some of the courses rank below 600 are also accepted.
- For IIT Hyderabad, candidates require ranks below 1500.
- Meanwhile, candidates with ranks below 1500 can also apply.
- Those with low GATE scores or rank (above 2500) can apply for admission at some GFTIs and other state level institutes.
What is a good score in GATE 2024?
Candidates preparing for GATE 2024 should know how much they need to score to get admission to top IITs offering popular courses like CSE, EE and ECE. Typically, scoring above 85 marks, out of 100, is considered a very good score in the GATE exam. It is important to note that students are given rank based on percentile score which is calculated out of 1000.
GATE 2024 Counselling: COAP and CCMT Processes
IISc Bangalore will not organize any counselling process for M.Tech admissions. Candidates seeking admission to IITs, NITs and other prestigious institutions will have to participate in counselling processes conducted by separate bodies.
- For admissions into NITs candidates need to register for GATE CCMT Counselling. Usually, the counselling process starts in April.
- For admissions into IITs, candidates need to register for GATE COAP Counselling. Aspirants will need to apply to individual institutes where admission is desired and eventually, register for Common Offer Acceptance Portal.
GATE CCMT 2024
GATE CCMT refers to Centralized Counseling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan/M.Des. CCMT is a centralized counselling process conducted for admission to participating NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and IIEST Shibpur.
Candidates with a valid GATE score card (2022/2023/2024) can register for CCMT 2024. The registration for GATE CCMT 2024 is expected to begin in May 2024.

GATE COAP 2024
COAP refers to Common Offer Acceptance Portal. GATE COAP 2024 is a window where all Participating Institutes / PSU's upload their admission/ job offers. Candidates who register for COAP 2024 also need to individually apply to the desired IIT for M.Tech admission.
The regisrtations for GATE COAP 2024 have begun on March 19, 2024. Those with a valid GATE score (2023/ 2022/ 2021) can register for COAP through, iitk.ac.in/coap2024.
What are the uses of GATE 2024 scores?
Candidates with valid GATE 2024 scores are offered multiple opportunities including M.Tech admissions, financial assistance, PSU recruitment opportunities, study abroad options, JRF in CSIR Laboratories and CSIR-sponsored projects, etc.
GATE 2024: M.Tech and PhD Admission Chances
Apart from M.Tech admissions at IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, GATE scores are also accepted for direct admission to Ph.D. directly after Bachelor's degree. A full-time residential researcher (RR) program includes a stipend and travel grants. Additionally, the scores are also accepted for admission to PG Diploma in Industrial Engineering at NITIE, Mumbai.
Admission to Foreign Universities through GATE Scores
Valid GATE scores are also used by some international universities such as the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Technical University of Munich, Germany and RWTH Aachen, Germany.
- These universities offer MS and Ph.D. in different specializations like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Surveying, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Applied Geophysics, Automotive Engineering, etc.
- Candidates must secure at least 90 percentile in the GATE exam.
- Candidates whose native language is not English also need to appear for English proficiency tests such as TOEFL or IELTS depending on the university/ country/ course requirements.
- Candidates should have scored a good GPA/ percentage in Bachelor’s degree (at least second-class honors).
Financial Assistance based on GATE 2024 scores
A valid GATE score can also be used to get financial assistance towards a Master’s or Doctoral program. M.Tech students are offered a stipend of Rs. 12,400 per month as GATE financial assistance. This stipend is offered for upto 22 months. Meanwhile, PhD students are offered a stipend of Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000 per month from the third to the fifth year. PSU Recruitment through GATE 2024
Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) are the companies that are owned by the union government of India or one of the state governments or both. These companies recruit candidates every year based on GATE scores. Shortlisted candidates with a valid GATE score are called for selection rounds like Personal Interview (PI)/ Group Discussion (GD).

GATE 2025 Syllabus, Exam Date, Conducted By
GATE 2025 exam date is expected to be February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2024. Those preparing for GATE 2025 exam can expect the registrations to begin in August 2024. GATE 2025 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee.
