What is a Good Score in CLAT 2024?

CLAT is considered to be one of the most competitive law entrance exams. Because of the high number of applicants as compared to the seats available, securing admission to National Law Universities requires a decent score in the exam.

Considering the new changes in CLAT 2024 Exam Pattern, scoring around 78-85 marks i.e. 65-70% will be a good score in CLAT 2024. This score is good enough to secure admission into one of the top 5-6 NLUs. This year, CLAT 2024 will include 120 questions instead of 150. Because of the decrease in the number of questions, it might be difficult to score 100+ marks which was a good score in CLAT until last year.

Candidates with even 46-48% marks can get admission to lower or new NLUs like NLU Sonipat. There are some NLUs that accept low CLAT scores but have good placement and alumni records.

ruchi ranjan

When preparing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) from Class 11, it’s essential to build a strong foundation in relevant subjects. Here’s how you can strategically choose your subjects:

English and Literature:

  • These subjects refine your language skills, which are crucial for tasks like legal research, document drafting, and constructing compelling arguments.
  • A good grasp of English will also help you excel in the English section of the CLAT exam.

History and Social Studies:

  • These subjects contribute to a deeper understanding of societal norms, government structures, and historical precedents that shape legal systems.
  • Knowledge of history and social studies enhances your ability to analyze legal issues in a broader context.

Mathematics and Sciences:

  • While not directly related to law, these subjects foster critical thinking, analytical abilities, and logical reasoning—all vital skills for legal problem-solving.
  • Strengthening your mathematical aptitude will be beneficial for the Mathematics/Quantitative Aptitude section of the CLAT exam.
