CAT 2024 registrations will tentatively commence on August 3, 2024. Marksheets of class 11 and class 12, Graduation marksheet, Valid ID proof, passport size photo and signature are required documents for application form.
You can register for CAT 2024 till September 20, 2024.(tentative) Make sure to fill in the correct details and documents while registering. Verify once before submitting your application. You need to upload your caste certificate and disability certificate (if any) on the application form.
The registration fee for General/EWS/OBC is INR 2400 whereas INR 1200 for SC/ST/PwD category students. To be eligible for CAT 2024 registration you must have 50% marks in your graduation. In 2023, the total number of registered candidates for CAT were 3.28 lakh out of which 2.88 lakh candidates appeared for the test.
Any correction in the registration form will be done in a given period of time. You’ll be notified for the same. You may expect the correction window to open in the fourth week of September. CAT 2024 is tentatively scheduled to be held on November 24, 2024.

CAT 2024 Registration Eligibility criteria
The registration for CAT 2024 can only be done when you fulfil all the eligibility criteria. Your application will only be considered after the verification of your eligibility. CAT 2024 has no difficult criteria to appear for the examination. The Eligibility criteria for CAT 2024 are as follows:
- You must graduate in any discipline from a recognised university. The minimum marks should be at least 50% aggregate for non-reserved categories (General / EWS / OBC). 5% relaxation has been granted to reserved category (SC/ ST/ PwD) students. They are required to have minimum 45% marks in graduation.
- You may register for CAT 2024 anytime as there is no upper age limit given for applicants.
- CAT also does not limit the number of attempts. You are free to give CAT examination any number of times until you get the desired scores.
- CAT 2024 does not need any work experience to be eligible for the exam application.
In case it is found during the exam process that your eligibility is false, your exam will be cancelled right away. Therefore, be honest with the documents that you provide for eligibility.

How To Register for CAT 2024?
Registration is the first step before you fill the application form. Given is a step by step process to register yourself for CAT 2024.
Steps to register for CAT 2024:
- Search the CAT official website on your browser. The official website is iimcat.ac.in
- On the dashboard, click on ‘Register’. It is shown below the New Candidate Registration tab.
- Read the instructions carefully. Enter your name, Date of Birth, Email Address, Country, and Mobile number. Now click the generate OTP option. You’ll receive an OTP on your registered email address to verify the email address.
- Enter the CAPTCHA code and submit.
- Reverify the entered details and tick the ‘I Agree’ box after reading the declaration carefully.
Once you make the registration, your application number will be sent to your registered email address and mobile number.
How To Fill CAT 2024 Application Form?
While filling the CAT application form, all the ‘*’ (asterisk) are mandatory fields. You cannot skip them or else you’ll not be able to submit your application.
The step by step process to fill the CAT 2024 application form are as follows:
- Go to the official website of CAT 2024 and click ‘Login’ under registered candidate login option.
- Enter your User ID or application number and password that have been sent to your email address. Enter the CAPTCHA code and Login.
- After logging in, you can see a screen with your application details. Match them and click on ‘Go to Application’ option.
- Read the instructions first. All the categories marked as ‘*’ are mandatory.
- Fill the Personal Details section. Your name, first name, middle name, last name, father’s name/ Guardians name, mother’s name, spouse’s name. Also, fill your Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, Category. Tick the box yes or no, if you belong to PwD Category.
- Select the first and second covid Vaccination Date.
- Enter your residence address, country, state, district, town/city, Pincode, email address and mobile number. Also add an emergency contact number and the relationship of that person with you.
- Now, upload the documents in the given guidelines. You need to upload your scanned passport size photograph, scanned copy of your signature, scanned copy of valid category certificate (NC-OBC/SC/ST/EWS certificate). To upload, click on ‘Click Here To Upload’ option mentioned on the screen.
- Enter the academic details. Fill in your SSC/10th/Equivalent board name, month of completion, maximum marks, total marks obtained, and aggregate percentage.
- Similar to the 10th board details, fill in your 12th board details.
- In the next step, enter your bachelor’s degree details. The details include, degree duration, current semester, type of university, university name, name of college, degree name, discipline, graduation stream, course commencement month/year, probable month/year of completion, marks percentage awarded by university, if your course is dual or integrated course.If you have a second bachelor’s degree, you have to fill in the details similar to your degree details.
- If you have completed or are currently studying the masters, fill in the details similarly to the degree details. Enter the other professional degree details if you have any.
- Enter the details of your work experience (if any).
- Now, for the next step, select the program you want to pursue and tick mark the box. You can also choose more than one program or can select all. Now select the interview city preference. You can select up to two interview cities for each program.
- Select the test city preferences. You can select up to six cities as your test cities.
- We are almost done with the application. Choose the payment mode for your application.
- Read the declaration carefully and tick the checkbox. Enter the captcha and you will be redirected to the payment window.
- Fill in your bank/card details and make the payment. You can use debit/credit card, internet banking, UPI for your final payment.
- Once you make the payment, you’ll receive a confirmation mail regarding your successful registration. Now you have finally registered for the CAT 2024.
Note: Your application will only be successfully submitted once you make the payment. The application will not be considered without the payment step.

The application form correction window opens after the registrations get closed. You must check the official website for any updates regarding the application form correction window.

Yes, here are some documents you need to submit for CAT registration: Class 10 and 12th mark sheet, Marksheet of graduation or equivalent diploma, Details of work experience, if any, Certificate of category scanned as PDF, in case applicable, List of IIM programs you wish to apply for, List of preferences for exam city and center, and more.
The registration for CAT 2022 exam is expected to begin on August 4, 2022. IIM is going to start the CAT registration window for a duration of 2 months. The last date to register for the CAT exam will be in the last week of September 2022.
