The introductory part of the Indian edition of the Feynman Lectures was written by Prof. V. Balakrishnan if I am not wrong. You can read about him on Wikipedia. You will also find some of his finest lectures on YouTube. His is classes on Quantum Mechanics and Dynamical Systems were my friend’s favorite.

To encourage meritorious students and help needy students with financial support, IIT Madras offers different types of scholarships and fee waivers. There are several schemes available for financial assistance by alumni, companies, Govt. of India, and institutes at IITM. The following scholarships are famous among IITM students.

Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarships: IITM offers up to 67% tuition fee exemption to only 25% of students admitted. Students whose annual parental income is less than INR 4.5 Lakhs are eligible to apply for MCM scholarships. Also, the subject of renewing this scholarship is a minimum GPA of 5.0 in the previous semester.
Institute Free Studentship: Likewise MCM scholarship, IIT Madras offers a free studentship for students whose annual parental income is less than INR 4,50,000 lakhs. Students are exempted from the payment of 67% of the tuition fee under this scheme. However, the scholarship is only offered to 25% of the UG students.
Institute Notional Prize: Based on the JEE rank and annual parental income not exceeding INR 4,50,000, IITM offers a one-time grant of INR 1000 to the 7% of the students admitted.

Admission:

First of all u should qualify for the jee mains and jee advanced entrance test and the cutoff ST Category is around 62 marks which is around 12.5 percentage and securing 3.5percentage in all 3 subjects. Admission process while the consuelling I had to carry all my documents in a order the consuelling process it takes around 1 day . I have took civil engineering and eligibility to the course is the same jee advanced course. Jossa basically at the beginning after that u should use ikollege website and after institute website academics.iitm.ac.in websites help you to pay and get the details . I availed National SC/ST Scholarship which u need to apply submit documents and fill form in the academic section. The exam timing are moderate in the odd semester but in the even semester is it is tight.

The first aspect for choosing is to be civil engineering course because it is easy and stressful to other courses in the other branches. The curriculum is packed and designed a way to encourage you to be more practical and helps ahead for the academic and professional career development They are outstanding in these things minor problems and discomfort can be rectified. The frequency of exams is 1.5 month / exam I think it's apt and good time according to the difficulty level and well planned curriculum.

I love the nature and the environment and the wildlife of this campus.
The campus provides good atmosphere to improve our mental and physical health.

I dislike that many people here always study and there is lot of peer pressure.
I dislike some courses in curriculum, which are not necessary in present generation.

I got into this college by writing JEE Advanced exam in my class 12. So by getting a good rank in the JEE Advanced exam,I got into this college and I joined in Computer Science department. After getting results of JEE Advanced exam,your have to keep your preferred colleges and preffered branch and you must apply for counselling in JOSAA website. Total of 6 ranks will happen in the counselling.Based on your rank and the preference of other students and based on the colleges you have choosen in JOSAA website, you will get a college. Ofcourse,reservation helps you a lot in this. You can get into a good college even with less score.

I love doing coding and logical thinking. I love to solve questions which keeps our brain to think out of box. So this is the reason I chose computer science department. The curriculum prepares us well by conducting labs and making us think critically and also we do projects,which helps us to have real world experience. It think we also have some unnecessary courses here,which must be changed with the time and the evolution of technology. The frequency of exams are , 2 quizes and 1 endsem per semister and we may have some tutorials (mini-tests) based on professors choices.

I like our Biotechnology department very much because the it is designed very well.
The campus greenary steels everybodys heart.

The student needs to clear the 10+2 exams. The joint entrance examinations and advanced exams are conducted by National Testing Agency. The students from all over the India will give the attempt. Among them only few people will be qualified to write the advanced exam according to their percentile. The allotment process will be made according to their chosen options of college.

The biotechnology curriculum is spot-on, blending theory with practical insights. It sets a strong foundation for real-world challenges. However, more hands-on labs and modern tools could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but occasionally Challenging.

The professor are very knowledgeable if not very good at teaching. One can learn very much from there professors.
The college administration treats you as if you're adult. You are free to leave campus/hostel whenever you want.

75% criteria is a thing that sometimes create problems.

Eligibility: 75% in class 12th You have to apply through joosa counselling after writing JEE ADVANCED.The cutoff for aerospace engineering is around 3.7k rank for general male.Application fees and dates align with the JEE ADVANCED and JOOSA counselling process. Student are expected to put around 55 hours of studies out of which around 20 in classroom and other in self study tutorial etc. course is quite difficult and 75% attendence is mandatory.

One of the big reasons to choose iit Madras was flexible curriculum. You can pursue whatever you want despite of your branch. One has to complete certain courses in department and then he is free to choose whatever he want to study. Can't say how much the curriculum prepares someone for the real world aerospace applications as I haven't worked in aerospace industry yet l. But speaking from the reputation of course I will say it's the best atleast in India.One year has 2 semesters jan-may and july-dec. Exam frequency depends on the professor taking the course but generally it is 2 quizzes (each 20% weightage), assignments(20%), end-semester exam(40%).

getting into IIT was a dream come true but the application process was a rollercoaster. Eligibility: I needed to clear both JEE mains and advanced to qualify for the JOSAA Application Process. Filling Applications: There's a deadline for application and there are different application fees for each category, the details can be found on the JOSAA Website and JEE Advanced Website. It usually starts in December but for my batch, it ended up being late and started in April or something. I availed the SC candidate benefits with lower cutoffs and fees. Both exams were difficult but I got qualified for JEE Advanced in my second Mains attempt and cleared JEE Advanced after The overall process was stressful, especially the document verification part after I got IIT Madras

Usually, the way everyone chooses their degree is based on the package. Computer science had the highest amount of money but it wasn't something that I found interesting and you can learn that stuff any time in life. It's not easy to survive Electrical without any interest in it. So my next option was Mechanical and I did not find any issues with it. The Mechanical professors go in-depth and give us a lot of assignments, lab sessions, and projects to make sure we understand all the concepts properly. But it does make the course more time consuming and difficult. Each semester is four months and Quiz 1 is at the end of the first month, Quiz 2 at the end of the second and End Semester exam in the end.

My side of the IIT story

I like how the campus life replicates a real world society.
The numerous opportunities available in almost field.

The north and south feeling among the students.
Unhealthy competition students create around them.

I have written JEE. I was qualified for JEE adv in mains. The exam is of two stages i.e,Mains and Advanced, you will have to qualify for adv after writing Mains. The application form can be found on official jee website. The dates will be released every year and can be found easily online. I had obc reservation and helped me get into IIT. I feel there is a loophole I the admission process during the exams, I have encountered several students who have copied and got great colleges, strict monitoring can help choose the top students.

My decision depended on the tag of IIT. I had interest in science field and I chose naval architecture in IITM as it is the online scientific background course I could find. The curriculum includes several high tech labs and ship yard training which shows you the real world problems. The teaching methods and curriculum is sufficient for any student to explore the field. The difficult of exams is not high.

To be eligible for M.Sc course, you must have passed B.Sc with 55% (5% relaxation for reserved category). The last date to apply for IIT Madras B.sc Data science course has already been over by January 15^th 2024.

IIT Madras BTech admissions 2024 are based on JEE Advanced score 2024 followed by JoSAA Counselling. JEE Advanced 2024 Exam dates are out. The exam will be conducted on May 26, 2024. Registration for the exam can be done between April 21, 2024, and April 30, 2024, on the official website
