I got CSE at IIT Delhi. Can I get a single room in the first year?

Do you think getting admission to the most coveted branch will also give access to the most coveted housing facilities? Well, you are wrong, inside IIT your rank has no value. You will be treated like any other student with equal amenities at your disposal. At IIT Delhi, every student is allotted a room randomly without any discrimination. First-year students usually get 2-seater or 3-seater rooms depending on the hostel they are assigned to. The single rooms you were asking for are usually allotted in the last year but some lucky students get a single room from the 3rd year in a new hostel like Girnar or Udaigiri. But regardless, your hostel will become your new home. Irrespective of the kind of rooms you are allotted, you get adapted to them and make splendid memories and new friends.

How was your first day at IIT Delhi?

Every IITian’s first day is a memory that stays with them forever, and is permanently ingrained, and so was my friend's first day at IIT Delhi. At around 11 in the morning, students were escorted to Dogra Hall, wherein an orientation session was conducted by the IIT Delhi director who briefed us about the institute administration and clarified basic doubts. The students were impressed by his speech and the two points that resonated the most with my friend were Students of IIT Delhi should target job creation and not job seeking. Despite a well-structured academic curriculum and research culture, why hasn’t IIT Delhi still been able to make it into the hundred top institutes globally? The orientation was followed by a tea session of 15 minutes at the LHC lobby. Students were escorted to department-wise orientation sessions that were addressed by the respective departmental heads. Once the orientation sessions concluded, students were asked to go back to the hostels, their new home for 4 years. A few formalities have to be dealt with related to the hostel BSW volunteers and how secretaries will always be at your disposal assisting you in every possible way. After lunch, she interacted with a few of her wingmates. The first day at IIT Delhi will surely leave a long-lasting impression on you and will be filled with exciting memories and discoveries.

What is the worst course you've taken or have heard of at IIT Delhi?

In my opinion, the two worst courses one should refrain from ever taking in IIT Delhi are MCP 100 and MCP 101. MCP 100: This course is Engineering Drawing and is one of the most irrelevant courses offered at IIT Delhi. It is taught by prof Sujeet Kumar Sinha who has no teaching skills and is always in a rush to complete the course. The entire syllabus is completed in just 2 months leaving no space to comprehend what was taught. MCP 101: This course comprises concepts such as casting and welding which are not expected to be studied by an IITian at least. Both the courses are a complete waste of time and don’t do justice to the institute's reputation.

What was your CGPA in the first semester in IIT Delhi?

My friends' father is a newly recruited assistant professor at IIT Delhi and shared his experience of the same over tea. Facilities No extravagant salary is offered but that’s not what professors are usually after A new apartment has been built to accommodate faculty Every professor gets his own private space in the form of a small office Coursework Professors also have a lot of burden and each professor is expected to take one B.Tech and one M.Tech level course in 1 semester. I was in music club which I think is the best club ever

Academics, very tough, not doable, first year is very tough
The gender ratio, it's 4 boys per girl, which is not good

My AIR was 16000, I got a seat by reservation, I got mechanical engineering branch which is quite good in iit Delhi. the admission process was smooth because obviously it's an iit, the entrance exam is JEE ADVANCED, it's not that difficult but at the same time it is difficult, but being a reserved candidate I was sure that I can get into an iit, the, the difficulty level lean towards difficult side, but with true dedication and efforts I think it's not that tough to crack iit jee, the results announcement is a little late, that's one area they can improve in.

The course curriculum is tough, but it's not undoable, and the faculty members are really nice so I don't think it'll be tough to pass the courses, the course does not prepare you for real world at all. The exams are tough. There are 2 semesters per year and exams are based on the semesters. Course Curriculum is up to date.

Honest review of IIT Delhi

The campus life is very good . The people are amazing.
The student community is filled with talented people who push you to be better.

The academic pressure is sometimes too high.
The gender ratio is not satisfactory in the college.

Admission is through JEE Advanced exam. The cut-off rabk fir my branch was around 2700. The exam is conducted yearly and it has a selection ratio of 1 percent. The process of admission should be similar to foreign colleges.

I took the course because I wanted to prepare for government service and civil is considered best for it. The curriculum prepares us for the real world. It's syllabus matches with that of ESE exams. The practical labs conducted are good and aim to solidify our understanding of the the theory classes. I suggest more emphasis should be on project based learning. There is a major exam at the end of the semester along with some quizzes and a mid sem exam.

you have to get through jee advanced . first, you have to score percentile so that you can sit into jee advanced exam. qualifying jee advanced does not mean that you will get admission into iit. nta conduct this exam . sc/st/obc get an beneffit from it. jee mains conducts 2 times and advanced one time . pcm should be the strong subject. you should have command on all subjects. it is competitive in nature.chances of selection is very less. it is very toxic also.

i was interested in civil by seeing the great structures. it influences me a lot . at b.tech level you will not learn much but when you do masters and p.hd then you had a great exposure to the real world problems and challenges that come across while construction. curriculum should focus more on the practical knowledge. exams are not that difficult 2 weeks of study before the exam is enough and some need one night also.

Review on Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi

I like the campus environment but class schedule is too much hectic for some days .
Infrastructure is very good at my campus.

What i don't like is toxicity among students. toxicity is because, everyone wants to go ahead of others.
But faculty have not that much experience of teaching they have knowledge but they can't delever it in front of students in such way so that students can understood it.

The admission process is simple but you have to clear two exams for it, known as JEE Mains and Jee Advanced. After clearing JEE Mains you have to apply for JEE Advanced. For this, you have to come under 200000 rank in JEE Mains.

Some courses are really interesting but some such courses are also there which are compulsory to choose. Courses include Labs, In classes we get knowledge about the working conditions and calculations related to work, and in labs, we do practically this work to increase our site knowledge. Exam frequency is not that much there is only one exam in a day but some days there is a maximum of two exams.

There are a lot of opportunities in IIT Delhi.

Teaching methods of professor is not satisfactory.
Curriculum in my college is sometimes ambiguous.

Selection in IITs in india is done through jossa counseling. Entrance exam which I appeared was jee mains and jee advanced. cutoff varies year wise . in my year cutoff was around 60 marks. Although admission process is easy and done through online mode.

the course curriculum in IITs is very interactive and aims at wholesome development of an individual. they also provides humanity courses to students which is a very good thing in IIT. And also we can opt for courses which we like.

Admission in iitd was through the jee advanced exam. I got biotech branch with air 4300. This exam is conducted once in a year. Reservation is also there. Obc candidates will get the same branch at 7500 air.

Curriculum is fine. But since everyone wants a tech job, this courses should also be added to the branch. Teaching methods are find. But grading system is very hard. There is one minor one major exam and rest are small quizes throughout the course.

I qualified jee mains and JEE advance to get admission into my college. If we are from PCM group then we will eligible for this exam. We can find on their official site which is NTA. I am from st category so I get reservation in seats. This exams held yearly and it's timing nearly 3 hrs. Everything thing is good in this process.

Courses are good designed I will give them 4.4/5. In our curriculum they add labs to get connect with practical knowledge in real world. Exam is held in 2 stage first is mid semester and semester exams.

Applicants should have completed his/her 10+2 from a recognized board of education with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Mathematics as main subjects. Also, the applicants should have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate in the 10+2 level or equivalent qualifying examination. Selection to the B.Tech program is strictly done on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in JEE Advanced entrance exam followed by the JoSAA Counseling Process. The seat allotment is based on the college cutoff and the candidate's preference for courses and colleges
