What students say about University of Toronto

Likes

  • A strong work ethic is required. Following all the instructions in the course material will guarantee a good grade for students.
  • Depending on where you work, government jobs (in most cases) pay more than private ones. Apply online as required.
  • There are a lot of opportunities available to us after completing this program, and the research facilities are also very good here.
  • This was available to all first-year students at St. Michaels College, University of Toronto.
  • The campus life is amazing. We have student lounges to play foosball or pool, and just chill and hangout. However, you do not get the time to do all of these.
  • Laurier is wonderful when it comes to the residence they offer to their students.
  • Some teachers utilize articles and podcasts, which I prefer because they are free and more accessible.
  • You can ask almost any question, and they will always give you their best advice/suggestions.
  • Toronto is the hub for AI, and I have family here, so it seemed like the best option.

Dislike

  • As well, the process of getting your money back when you drop a course is not applicable for any other term, which is very disappointing

  • Dislikes:
  • The students there were not as good as I expected,
  • The ranking system was not good as it includes a lot of hardwork,
  • Some faculties were rude and did not responded well at my doubts

The admission was easy and was completed through my consultancy and it was very easy for me to prepare for the visa interview through my consultancy. My consultancy was Kanan which helped me with admission and visa interviews.

Fees:

The program was affordable my first-year fees had been paid by my parents and the rest fees I paid myself by doing part-time work at different places I was paid for working and my salary was 25$ per hour per week my other academic expenses included the stationery cost and project cost.

  • Dislikes:
  • I disliked the area of the campus, like we have to walk more from one class to other building for practicals.,
  • Also there are no garden available in the campus.

I have been using this website for the past few days and it really helped me with the good college's course and also it helped me with the complete information about the course and about the college. It also saved my time and provided me with accurate information. It also makes the admission process easy for me, the guidance through the consultant makes the process hassle-free for me.

Fees:

I have secured a loan from my hometown and the college will provide me a part-time job on the campus which will help me with the fees. Also will get a scholarship if I maintain the required credits.

  • Dislikes:
  • Sometimes too much focus on academic grades than practical experiences. Also, students get sometimes too much focus on just Consulting and Finance, which inhibits them to explore different areas. School can ensure students that career can grow in different areas by showing them more real life experiences.

It is good for the people who want to excel in their career. School gives the opportunity to change the domain experience as required.

  • Dislikes:
  • The most pressing concern especially for students coming from Asian countries like India, China etc. is the job market. Very frankly, the total number of companies and job openings anytime round the year are less than Bangalore or Gurugram alone.

Overall, the experience was enriching and fruitful.

  • Dislikes:
  • Specifically at Rotman MMA, the course is very intense, you should forget social life for a while and work hard towards achieving the goal of learning and growing in all aspects of your life. The program services try really hard to lighten the mood by putting social events and activities in place, but the sheer amount of pressure with frequent assignments and in class activities puts your feet running. It's like running on a treadmill and there is no way to stop it for a year, and the only thing you can do to catch up is just maintain the speed and run with the program. The most important experience you gain here is dealing with pressure.

The experience was great, kind of tiring, to be honest, but I hope that it is all worth it. You will eventually be treated as a UofT graduate, which is of immense value and respect.

Fees:

72,000 is the tuition fee, and if you live near college, it will cost you 1200–1500 dollars per month for living expenses, including rent and everything.

My university is a place where talent and idea coverage meet global challenges. It's a campus that is known for its education, student success. The award-winning faculty, staff of this university have a numerous impacts on walks of life, thus it encourages me to be admitted here. My GPA was7.6 and I was required to an online application which cost $0.

Fees:

The mode of fees payment was online. the fee was around $5000 per year. I know it's too high but they also provide scholarships of 10% to 40%. I requested my staff to reduce the fees. They really give 20% off to me. In my point of view, every student should have admission to the university.

Ques. What is the acceptance rate at the University of Toronto?

● Top Answer By Amit Sachdeva on 03 Feb 21

Ans. The acceptance rate of UofT is not the most welcoming which is obvious by the fact of it being a top ranked Institute. Once you get into UToronto, the actual struggle is to survive there. It has been ranked 29th by QS World University Ranking , 2020 University of Toronto is quite competitive to get into. Acceptance rate varies from program to program. Average acceptance rate of the University is 43% which comes down to 23.1% for International students.  If you manage to score an average of 87-90 in your 6 major subjects and have a good resume, you will have a pretty high chance of getting here . Better the grade, higher is your chance of getting accepted. Ultimately it depends on the branch to which you seek your admission at, less the competition higher is the acceptance rate. However it must be mentioned that getting into the University is not a huge deal when compared to surviving after the first year and getting your desired majors. Statistics of accepted students: Engineering is the most desired field at University of Toronto among international students. Out of 50,041 UG applications 20,296 students were offered admission among which 4,019 were international students.  The acceptance rate of graduate courses is around 39% Out of 1056 PhD applicants, 305 were given opportunity for enrollment with an overall acceptance rate of 30% It must be kept in mind that getting into University of Toronto is much easier than surviving there for a second year. The freshman retention rate of the University lies around 85-90%Read more

Ques. I have done Btech in ECE and I have 5 years of work experience as a senior data engineer in an MNC. Can I get admission in University of Toronto without GRE.

● Top Answer By Advaith Bhaskar on 15 May 23

Ans. No, GRE is not compulsory for admission to the University of Toronto. It is optional for the University of Toronto, but it's highly recommended that you submit with a good score, as it adds credibility to your application. More than the university, the requirement for GRE depends on the specific program that you are applying to at the University of Toronto. It’s better to check your program's website. The website of the University of Toronto for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering stated that a GRE score is not required.  The Civil Engineering Department also doesn't require the GRE.  The website of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering also does not require it.  The Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry did not state anything about the GRE requirements.  Thus it can be safely concluded that there is no GRE requirement as such for MS in the University of Toronto. However, it is always recommended to have a standardized exam score like GRE for Graduate studies as this will improve your chances of admission.Read more
